FAQs

How should I prepare for a treatment?

It is encouraged that you arrive 5 minutes before the session to allow for any questions or concerns to be discussed. This also allows for you to enjoy to the full hands-on portion of the session.  Once on the table… relax… try to let your mind drift off, put any work or stressful thoughts away, you can always come back to them when your session is finished.

What should I wear and what areas will be worked on?

During a massage therapy treatment, massage oil is used on the unclothed body, underwear is optional, lying between sheets and appropriately draped for warmth, comfort, and privacy.  Only the area being worked on will be uncovered.  The neck, back, arms and legs and abdomen can be included within any treatment while still focusing on your main areas of concern. Be sure to let your therapist know if you would like to focus on a specific area or if you’d prefer not to have certain areas worked on.  Your therapist is there for your well being and the more you can tell them about your preferences, the better the treatment.

What is the protocol on gratuity/tipping?

Gratuity is optional – appreciated, but never expected and can be accepted as cash.

Is it normal to feel sore the next day after massage, particularly after deep tissue work?

It is not uncommon to feel sore in the area in which deeper focused technique was applied to during the session. The soreness is most common after the first deep treatment, and usually lasts no longer than one to two days- it should feel as if your muscles have had a good work out at the gym.  If you have any questions regarding post treatment concerns, please feel free to consult your therapist.  The pressure can be modified to suit your bodies individual needs.
